Research On The Design Of Children’s Museum Space Based On Child Psychology

In recent years,the social education function of museums has been paid more and more attention,while children are often overlooked in traditional museums.However,with refinement of social labor,children’s museums dedicated to serving children have begun to develop vigorously,providing education for children with new development model and direction.The Children’s Museum in China started in 1996 and is still in the embryonic stage of its development.The planning and design of the Children’s Museum lacks consideration of children’s own characteristics and needs.Whether children’s psychological needs can be met is the key to the success of Children’s Museum,and also determines the direction of its future development.Therefore,this article studies the design of children’s museum space based on children’s psychology,to address the problems and shortcomings of the existing children’s museum in our country.It puts forward the corresponding design strategies and makes recommendations for the creation and development of children’s museum in the future,which with strong practical significance.Taking the design of children’s museum as the research object and applying the theory of children’s psychology as theoretical support,this paper studies the development of children’s psychological and behavioral characteristics,analyzes the children’s demand for space environment of the museum,therefore to create a diverse and child-friendly space environment,provide new ideas for the Children’s Museum design.The thesis is divided into four aspects as follows: Firstly,define the related concepts and interpret the children’s needs for their space through the study of children’s psychological and behavioral characteristics based on the theory of child psychology,and clarify the importance of child psychology to the space design of children’s Museum;Secondly,through questionnaire survey and case study,analyze the existing problems in the design of children’s museums in our country and put forward the urgency of improving the design on children’s museums.Then,considering current problems of children’s museum,put forward children’s museum space design methods according to Children development,based on child psychology.Mainly discuss from three aspects: the design elements of space,the display design techniques of space,and environment build-up.Finally,raise the strategies and principles which needs to follow when designing,and look forward to the design trend of the children’s museum space,providing practical reference for the construction of children’s museum in the future.This paper focuses on the impact of space design and subjective evaluation based on children,research on children’s Museum space design methods in line with children’s development;put forward the "people-oriented" and "learning from entertainment " design concepts,and space design principles and strategies with safety,fun,interactivity,coordination,providing new ideas and methods for the Design of children’s museum in the future.
