Research On The Design Of Children’s Outdoor Activity Space On The Base Of Child Psychology

The healthy growth of children affects the hearts of countless people while they are ahigh-profile group. Outdoor activities has an important role on children’s physical and mentaldevelopment，and it’s the interest of children. A lot of negative factors lead to the lack of children’soutdoor activities, one of which is the disappointing status quo of the construction of children’soutdoor activity space. In order to promote children’s outdoor activities, exploring how to make thedesign of children’s outdoor activity space better is necessary.The design of children’s outdoor activities needs to meet children’s needs, that’s the necessity ofmaking the design combined with children psychology. A scientific and practical design will bemade only on the base of understanding the behavior and psychological characteristics of childrenfully.This paper mainly includes four parts:First is finding the insufficiencies of current research by synthesizing research in and abroad. Inthe aspect of theoretical research, the systematic research materials are not only missing, but alsolacking of combined with other related disciplines. In practice, the quantity and quality of theconstruction of the domestic children’s outdoor activity space could not meet children’s demands.Second is to study and summarize the basic theories relating to this project, mainly including ofchildren’s outdoor activities, children’s outdoor activity space and child psychology.Third is choosing four sanatoriums through investigation, data collection and comparativeanalysis and some other ways. By the way of questionnaire, taking pictures, observation andinterviews and some other methods, this paper analyze the functional partition, plant landscaping,play facilities, landscape facilities and barrier-free design and so on, summarizing the differencesbetween people’s ideal demands and construction status quo.Last is the summary of ways that how to divide functional partition, consider the special needsof disabled children in the actual design, and how to design the terrain, pavement, natural elements,play facilities and landscape facilities on the premise of safety in children’s outdoor activity spaceafter the research and analysis of the above three parts, hoping it can give some useful suggestionsin the future.
