Research On Public Space Of Villages In The Qin Valley

Qin River flows from north to south in the Southeast Shanxi Province leisurely and finally merges in the Yellow River.Qin River valley historically formed a relative steady and enclosing biomorphous.The corresponding traditional villages in this area also present a relative stable form with district context based on the historical development.From the perspective of history,the development and evolution of the architectural form in this region have experienced the rapid transformations throughout the conventional agriculture time,modern industry time and the contemporary urbanization time.This study firstly focuses on the Qin River valley traditional villages in various historical periods,and start with the head-ward exploration and analysis of their corresponding biomorphous and ideology.The ideology together with the biomorphous that influenced by the former,play an important role on establishing and forming the relative stable architecture spatial form.Secondly,the author conducted systematic and comprehensive exploration,mapping and analysis in the typical buildings,thus summarized their public space mode with architectural language such as point,line and plane.On the other hand summarized and analyzed the plaza and street from the aspects of spatial form,interface,texture,and support for the public behavior.Thirdly,Qin River valley is similar with the most other Chinese rural areas,the original long-term stable architecture emerges new changes because of the transformations from agriculturalization to urbanization,from modernize to modernization.Analyzing the traditional space and find out the conflict points are helpful to summarize and conclude the traditional village public space develop tendency of this region.By analyzing all the issues above,this study summarize the development and evolution of the traditional villages especially their public spaces in Qin River valley,expecting provide helpful design concepts for the new public space developments which are inclusive and positive to born historical and contemporary life and in favor of the residents' lives.
