Study On Setting Method Of Unconventional Outside Left-turn Bus Lane

With the economic development,the number of private cars are increasing rapidly,but there are limited road resources,so the traffic problem is getting worse.Therefore,developing the public transport is the fundamental method to solve the traffic problem.As a cost-effective public transport,bus has gradually gained due attention in urban traffic development.However,due to the restrictions on land use,many bus stops are located at a relatively close distance from the intersection and contain a lot of left-turn buses.When there are quite a lot number of left-turn buses and the traffic is large,it will lead a great impact of the straight-line vehicles.At present,a new type of left-turn bus lane has gradually promoted.The left-turn bus lane is set on the right side of the straight lane which can eliminate the conflict between the left-turn bus and the straight traffic.The design is called the unconventional outside left-turn bus lane.In this context,this paper has important practical significance for the research on the setting method of unconventional outside left-turn bus lane.This paper has studied the setting method of unconventional outside left-turn bus lane through literature research,traffic investigation,mathematical statistics,regression analysis and micro-simulation etc.Firstly,by investigating the signal intersection contained left-turn bus lines,the paper use mathematical statistics and regression analysis to study the influencing factors of traffic flow in the upstream of the intersection and the characteristics of left-turn bus lane changing.Then,according to different conditions,the traffic capacity,delay and speed were selected as evaluation index,and through the simulation experiment,the quantitative relationship between the influencing factors and index were explored,and then get the setting conditions of the unconventional outside left-turn bus lane.Then,the method of setting the unconventional outside left-turn bus lane is studied,including the design of intersection canalization,the selection of different type of unconventional outside left-turn bus lane,the critical condition of setting the social vehicle left-turn lane on outside,and the related facility suggestions.Finally,the entire process of setting andapplying the unconventional outside left-turn bus lane was proposed,and applies it to an actual case.And the result showed that the validity and practicability of the research results are verified.Based on the existing researches,this paper studies the setting conditions and setting methods of unconventional outside left-turn bus lane.And its achievement can provide the idea and method for design unconventional outside left-turn bus lane.
