With the continuous development of the UAV market and Internet technology,more and more consumer-grade UAV began to be controlled by the mobile phone APP.As a simple and intelligent control method,the mobile phone APP has a good user experience for reducing the learning cost and manipulation complexity of novice users.And user guide design of UAV APP for consumer-grade customers with its necessity and effectiveness in handling the process for novice users will serve as a good entry point.Through research on current popular consumer-grade UAV APP,it is found that there are currently the following problems:(1)Lacking necessary safety awareness guidance and instructions.(2)Lacking easy-to-use and smooth motion control and functional usage guidance.(3)Lacking timely and effective feedback guidance.Based on this background,this paper carries out a study of user guidance design for UAV APP with the core of reducing user learning cost,improving learnability,fluency,and security based on the goal-directed concept and related theories of guiding design.First of all,build a theory-based and research framework for user guide design of UAV APP based on goal-directed.By introducing goal-directed design concept,researcher proposed the user-guided task follows for UAV APP which based on goal-directed and three principles of user guide design for UAV APP:the principle of fluency,ease of learning and behavior feedback effectiveness.Then identify the user goals,this process is mainly divided into quantitative research and qualitative research.Through questionnaires,researcher can get user's demand information and demand level for consumer-grade users of UAV APP.Qualitative research includes user observation and user interview.Finally,demands were refinded and summarized based on task flow,and define the user guide design of the UAV APP as:Front-type user's guide,Procedural user's guide and Feedback-type user's guide.At the end,user guide design practice and evaluation for UAV APP(XIRO)is carried out.The user guide design practice for UAV APP was guided by the task flow prototype and guide design principles,and adopting an evaluation method based on usability testing to further validate the quality of user's experience guided by the UAV APP(XIRO)user's guide design.The test results prove that the user guide design of the UAV APP(XIRO)for novice users can help the user complete the flight control tasks of the UAV quickly,effectively and safely,and bring a great user experience to the target users.
