In this paper,in view of the problem encountered in actual production,that is,whether the same or better formability can be obtained,when some complex aviation structures be produced by forging from the original hammer forging to the hydraulic press die forging.The typical aviation TA15 titanium alloy frame forgings,which is not only complicated in shape and structure,but also difficult to be deformed with titanium alloy.It is easy to appear the problems of un-filling,uniform flash,uniform deformation and coarse grain during the die forging.is used for the research.The formability of two different die forging equipment between hammer forging and the hydraulic press die forging at the same forming process have been further studied by the CATIA and Deform software.The main works and research results of this paper are as following:(1)Firstly,the forgings and die of the frame part are designed,which are based on the structural features of the frame part and the design requirements of titanium alloy forgings,and the finite element model of the hot die forging is established.According to the one forming simulation analysis of the initial billet,and studying the deformation mechanism,the filling and the flash distribution of the forgings,two kinds of optimized schemes for the initial billet are proposed,the simulation results show that the filling of the scheme I is better,the flash distribution is more uniform and saving material 17%.(2)Based on the analysis of the forming process of the frame forgings,and the optimized initial blank is adopted,the whole forming process of frame forgings on the hammer and 200 MN hydraulic press are simulated and analyzed,the differences of the filling property,the flash distribution,the typical cross section temperature and the effective strain of the forgings between the hammer forging and the hydraulic press die forging are compared.It is found that the hammer forging is compared with the hydraulic press,the filling property is better,the flash distribution,the whole temperature of the forgings,and the effective strain distribution is more uniform under the same fire and reduction.(3)The characteristics and differences of the die stress distribution of hammer forging and hydraulic press die forging of the frame forgings are compared.It is found that,under the same fire and reduction,the maximum principle stress of the hydraulic press forging die and the hammer forging die is distributed near the deepest position of the cavity and the maximum variable section,but the die stress of hammer forging is larger than the die stress of the hydraulic press die forging,the hammer forging die is easier to fail than the hydraulic press forging die.(4)The test production of the frame forgings is made by the forging process of three fire hammer.The results show that the forging after the three fire is filled well,the flash distribution is uniform,and the structure and performance meet the requirements of application.
