Forging hammer is an important device, which is used to forge roughcast in machine shops. When forging hammer works, violent vibration produces, so the precise instruments and equipment around can't run normally, the stability and longevity of the workshop structure may lower, furthermore, the health of people hurts. The damping to forging hammer foundation is all through the ages a hot question for discussion. This paper does some work aiming at damping to forging hammer foundation.In the first paragraph, the author offers a general situation about how the forging hammer works and how much harm it does while working. In the end of this paragraph, the author sums up the emphases of this paper.In the second paragraph, the author introduces two calculation models for forging hammer foundation vibration system, which are commonly used in design of mechanical machine foundation, one is mass-spring-damping model, the other is elastic-half-space model. In the last part of this paragraph, a calculation model for forging hammer foundation vibration system with dual-freedom is presented.In the third paragraph, some different methods of damping to forging hammer foundation have been advanced based on analysis of important factors affecting vibration response.In the fourth paragraph, how the theory of the damping to forging hammer foundation advances at home and abroad, the research and application of the implement for damping to forging hammer, the structure of damping to forging hammer and the calculation methods for forging hammer foundation vibration system, which are used at home nowadays, are particularly introduced.In the fifth paragraph, aiming at direct damping under anvil block of forging hammer, the author bases a mechanics model of two-degree with damping, and optimizes the vibration parameters both in frequency field and in time field, then finds out the new simple method of optimizing the vibration parameters of the damping device under anvil block of forging hammer.In the sixth paragraph, the author discusses how the direct damping under anvil block of forging hammer affects the beating energy, the operation, the safety of the facility and the economic benefits.In the seventh paragraph, the author point out the deficiency and faultiness of this paper.
