Although it is a new innovative concept and technology of building modeling,BIM(Building Information Modeling)has extensively used to the design,construction,and cost accounting of the construction projects in the world,and is creating value for the engineering project.On the other hand,the usage of the BIM technology is concentrated in the building engineering,however,it is limited to use BIM to the infrastructure engineering such as bridge engineering.The study on the application of BIM to the bridge engineering mainly focuses on the theoretical discussion.The real engineering application of BIM in the bridge is a few,consequently,it is worthy to study on the applicability of the BIM technology to the fine design,the construction management,and the simulation of pre-assembly of steel bridge engineering.Based on a real cable-stayed cable-stayed bridge engineering,this paper investigate the application of BIM to the fine design and construction of steel bridge engineering.The objectives of this paper are to solve the technical problems and defects of the design and construction management in the current steel bridge projects,to improve the design of steel bridges,the fabrication of the structural member and the efficiency of construction,and to ensure construction quality and resource-save.The main contents and achievements of this article are given as follows:(1)Describes the basic concepts,information integration and interactivity,and related software of BIM.The main problems of steel structure bridges are analyzed,and the application advantages and prospects of BIM technology in steel structure bridges are preliminarily explored.(2)Explore the application of BIM technology in the fine design of steel bridge engineering.Introduce the concepts and related theories of BIM technology,combine the advantages of fine design,elaborate the necessity and feasibility of applying BIM technology to the design of steel bridges,and use the single tower cable-stayed bridge in a city development zone as the background project,and finish the fine design of the bridge.Apply the idea of no-excess construction in hull construction to the design stage of steel bridges,and solve the problem of secondary positioning,scribing and cutting of steel bridge parts,and reducing the ineffective labor in the process of manufacturing.(3)Explore the comprehensive application of BIM technology in the construction of steel bridges.This paper combines the actual project of a cable-stayed cable-stayed bridge with twin cable planes in a certain steel structure,and carries out construction management work based on the collaborative management platform of the BIM model during the bridge construction period,including 4D construction progress management and progress tracking analysis based on BIM.Overall evaluation of benefits,analysis of the necessity and advantages of applying BIM technology to steel bridges.(4)Analyze the shortcomings of the pre-assembly of the physical pre-assembly and the existing computer simulation,and design a simulation pre-assembly system for steel bridges based on BIM technology and a full-station scanner for the disadvantages.
