Transmission is one of the most important part of the automobile transmission system which performance will affect many aspects of the vehicle.The first to be affected is vehicle’s dynamic propertyand economical efficiency,comfortable capability and reliability in operation,transmission efficiency and stability will be greatly affected as well.Although thetechnology of automatic transmission has constantly promotedin recent years,the traditional manual mechanical transmission still can not be replaced.Manual mechanical transmission occupies the dominant place in market due to its superiority in simple and reliable structure,mature manufacturing process,high transmission efficiency,low manufacturing costs and many other advantages.With the rapid development of modern computer technology,the research and development of transmission is no longer only rely on the calculation and traditional experience of designers,but through professional design software to design,analysis and optimize.This text mainly utilizes the professional design module and the powerful database of the MASTA software to design manual transmission of heavy-duty vehicles,analyze and optimize parts parameters by simulating actual load working condition,and verifythrough experimental analysis.This can effectively reduce the development cost and shorten the development cycle while ensuring the reliability of the product.In this text,the design and research of the manual mechanical transmission of this heavy-duty vehicle contains following aspects:(1)To determine the target and overall plan of the transmission development,including the structure layout of the transmission,the transmission of the gear,the layout of the shaft and the lubrication design of the transmission etc.(2)To determine the transmission ratio of each gear tooth number,calculate parameter and check the strengthin premise of comprehensive measure to economical efficiency and dynamic property of the vehicle,,and by consideration of the basic parameters matching of the engine and vehicle work condition,(3)To establish a transmission model in MASTA software and analyze the bearing capacity of gears,shafts and bearings in load conditions according to theload spectrum to simulation load,to find out the weak links of design;to make micro modification of the gear tooth profile and tooth direction and reduce the transmission error of gear,so as to lay the theoretical foundation for the future study of transmission noise reduction.(4)To conduct experimental analysis and verificationof transmission sample,including the transmission temperature rise test,fatigue test,static torsion test,noise test and so on.Verify the basic performance of the designed transmission by comparing the test data and disassembly pictures,analyze problems existed in design,to provide data basis for late transmission performance improvement.With the in-depth development of gear professional software,how to make use of software advantages to analyze the parameters of transmission,find the short boardfactors,improve the transmission performance specifically,reduce the manufacture cost efficiently and shorten development period will provide a direction for the future research of new transmission.
