Transmission is one of the core parts of the vehicle and the important parts of automobilepower transfer assembly. Its function is to change the torque and speed of drive wheeltransferred by engine for vehicle getting different traction and speed in various conditions.Therefore, the performance of the transmission quality directly influence the vehicle power,engine fuel economy, comfort and safety reliability.Also, its quality reflects the quality ofvehicle. The damage of it may directly cause the vehicle can not run, and even if serioustraffic accident. The overall layout of the transmission must ensure the high transfer efficiencyand low noise, but also makes the structure simple and compact. The transmission housing isthe security protective cover of transmission and an important part. In the gear transfer process,it bear larger load and generate larger deformation and stress. This stress and deformation havegreat influence on working reliability and life of transmission, and is also one of the majorsources of transmission noise. Therefore, for designing a transmission that has reasonablestructure, high transmission efficiency, excellent rigidity and strength, the overall scheme andshell design is essential.In this document, it determines the transfer scheme of transmission with some parametersof vehicle and engine, and do the optimal design for the shell using CAD/CAE technology forthe purpose of shortening the design cycle and reducing development costs.
