Pneumatic braking system is widely used in commercial vehicles because of its simple structure and large braking torque,besides the brake media air is easily obtained.However,the gas is compressible and the wheelbase is long,which lead to the slow propagation of the high pressure air in the brake system and the longer braking time.Therefore it is necessary to study the dynamic response characteristics of the braking system.In this paper the following work is done to study a 6X4 commercial vehicle braking system:1.The principle of the foot brake valve in different work process is studied,then the dynamic model is established in AMESim software.At last the test is carried on to identify the parameters of this valve and improve the simulation model.2.The simulation model of the other components and the braking system are established in AMESim.The response characteristic of the braking system under different conditions is studied,such as limit braking,different pedal movement speed,different gas supply pressure,different pipe length diameter and so on.3.The braking system is optimized to minimize the response time of the system with the boundary conditions of the key valve components static characteristics curve Base on the braking system dynamic model.4.The co-simulation model combined the braking model and vehicle model is built.The braking performance of optimized vehicle in straight brake condition is researched compared to unoptimized vehicle.Then the braking direction stability is researched in the turning braking simulation of the optimized vehicle.
