Since the beginning of the 21 st century,China's bridge construction has been developing in a spurt manner.Increasing numbers of extra large bridges are under planning and construction.Therefore,several problems need to be solved to meet the needs of growing numbers of the bridge construction.As a common basic foundation of the extra large bridges,caisson foundation has several highly demanding characteristics;Accuracy of manufacturing,difficulty of construction,complexity of structure,difficulty in expressing spatial positions with two-dimensional drawings,and a large amount of parts should be concerned before manufacturing.By only utilizing the traditional designing,construction and management methods,the growing expectations cannot be satisfied.In order to solve the above problems,the BIM concept came into being.At present,the application of BIM technology in bridge engineering is at its initial stage.It is still limited to the simple application of the three-dimensional model,or being used in a certain stage within the project.Therefore,it is necessary to study the integrated application of BIM technology in bridge engineering design and construction.This paper studied for the application of BIM technology in the design and construction of large caisson on the Project of mid-trench caisson of the North Bridge on the Oujiang River.This paper is based on the existing BIM theory,exploring the application of BIM+ concept in bridge engineering.Based on the project,the studies only examine the application of the BIM model standards to super-large bridge projects.Utilizing EKL programming language,references,nodes and templates,researching on an efficient,parametric modeling methods,proposing a method to quickly establish preliminary scheme comparison model and a preliminary model.Realizing the cooperation and visual three-dimensional design of caisson through BIM technology,formula editing is performed inside Catia to realize automatic formula calculation and output of Excel calculation book function.At the same time,BIM model is used as reference and input conditions to realize the analysis of caisson completion state in finite element software.Through the deepening of the BIM model of the caisson in the design phase,the application of BIM technology in the construction phase is realized.The goal of deepening the steel structure,nesting the sheet metal,processing the steel reinforcement will be achieved.The related temporary building model was established.It is used for the construction simulation and the transformation of the finite element model.Finally,the BIM model of the cassion was imported into the BIM collaborative management platform of the Oujiang River North Bridge.Based on the collaborative management platform,the whole process of the large caisson was refined and managed.The results show that compared with traditional design,construction and management methods,the idea based on BIM technology can effectively cascade the entire life cycle of the caisson and solve the problem of inefficient transmission of traditional design and construction information,which canachieve the goals of humanization,specialization,standardization,informatization and fine.
