Study On The Evolution Of Qingcheng's Spatial Morphology From The Perspective Of Cultural Gene

Qingcheng,being provincial famous city,bears profound history and cultures and has rich urban historical spaces.In the evolving process of the spatial form of Qingcheng,keeping balance between city construction and ancient city protection should be taken into consideration firstly.Thereby,its cultures need to be analyzed and summarized to illuminate its cultural gene and study the influence of cultural gene on urban spatial morphology.That will provide reasonable reference for the development of urban spatial morphology.With the methods of literature study,cross study and comparative study,“cultural gene”and “urban spatial morphology” are constructed theoretically based upon the analysis of their theories,research methods and the content of this study.Documents about Qingcheng's history have been studied at length in order to analyze and conclude its development history.In terms of the process and features of its development history,the development of Qingcheng could be divided into three temporal units which are the period of three generations(Xia,Shang Zhou dynasties),the period from Qin to Qing dynasties and contemporary period.In accordance with the time,a diachronic study on Qingcheng is conducted in this thesis.During each temporal unit,the cultural gene,elements and features of the spatial morphology and the influences of cultural gene on spatial morphology are concentrated on.To unveil the evolution of cultural gene,this study will focus on its formation and continuation in each temporal unit.Meanwhile,the evolving of spatial morphology is investigated in the method of vertical comparison.Those preceding studies will further reveal the influences of cultural gene upon urban spatial morphology.This study suggests that cultural gene influences upon the urban spatial morphology objectively.The cultural gene is one of the internal driving forces of urban spatial morphology,which is proved by the establishing of cultural gene and urban spatial morphology relationship spectrum.This spectrum discloses their corresponding relationship.Moreover,relying on the practice and dynamic process of cultural gene's effects on the evolution of Qingcheng's spatial morphology,it could propose that the cultural gene should be inherited and protected to drive the future city planning and construction.This study not only provides new perspective to the study of Qingcheng's spatial morphology,but also expends thetheoretical basis for the development of Qingcheng.At the same time,it will enrich the theories about cultural gene and urban spatial morphology.Finally,it might shed light on the studies on other cities.
