In the process of national economic development,electricity demand has grown rapidly.With the development of hydropower and the emphasis on clean energy,hydropower has developed rapidly and has a promising future.In order to make better use of hydropower resources to serve the society and better promote the economic benefits of hydropower,it is of great significance to further promote the research of reservoir power generation dispatch.First of all,this paper introduces the development history and solutions of the current major solutions to the problem of stochastic generation scheduling.On this basis,the advantages and disadvantages of various methods are discriminated.Secondly,it introduces the idea and optimization principle of reference line method.Based on the analysis and summary of the characteristics of the deterministic and stochastic outflow power generation scheduling problems,it was found that the “high water level operation” and “minimum abandoned water” optimization principles are still applicable under stochastic circumstances.Then the equivalent model of the maximum expected power model—the minimum expected energy loss model—is given.After that,a stochastic reference line was proposed based on the model and optimization principle with the smallest expected value of energy loss.In the process of applying a stochastic reference line,the end-period state corresponding to each decision and the relative position relationship of stochastic reference lines are analyzed,and a calculation method for calculating the energy loss is given.Therefore,using the stochastic reference line as a reference line simplifies the process of solving the decision-corresponding energy loss,and finally obtains the optimal decision quickly.Based on the method and decision process of the stochastic reference line,the specific algorithm flow of the stochastic reference line method is defined.Then,the stochastic reference line method was applied to the case calculation of Jiangya Hydropower Station and compared with the results of the stochastic dynamic programming method.The results show that the stochastic reference line method has certain improvements in the calculation accuracy and time.This shows the effectiveness and practicality of the dimensional reduction of the stochastic reference line method in this paper.In the final summary of the outlook,further research directions for stochastic reference lines are indicated.That is,consider the stochastic reference line method for runoff periods and cascade reservoirs.
