In recent years,with the development of polarization optics technology,polarization guidance technology has been gradually paid attention to,and polarization guidance and polarization simulation experiments and polarization devices debugging are not available in the polarization target simulation source.Aiming at this problem,this paper presents a simulation technology based on DMD for polarization target,which is used to develop the polarization target simulation source system.On the basis of DLP technology,and then mix up the method of converting natural light into polarized light.In order to separate the target image from the background image,we use DMD device by time-sharing to image,and the polarization characteristic is only given to the target image so as to generate the target simulation source image with polarization information.In the technology,two groups of target and background image data are sent to the DDR3 SDRAM to be cached firstly,and then we use MCU to control FPGA and manipulate DMD to launch background image,then we add optical polarizer and optical compensator manually,the target image is put into 4 times by DMD controlled by FPGA,the optical polarizer and the horizontal optical axis are changed into 0~°,45~°,90~°and 135~°angle respectively during the four times of imaging process,the corresponding linear polarized light can be generated,and then the output light of the five images can be collected by extending the exposure time of the polarizer.According to Stokes vector synthesis theory,The polarization characteristics of the target image can be obtained by collecting four kinds of linear polarized light,which can be used for the debugging and experiment of the polarizing device.In this paper,the design of the polarization target simulation device is completed,and the feasibility of the polarization target simulation technology based on DMD is verified by experiments.It is a great effort in polarization optics to meet the needs of visible light polarization device debugging and polarization experimental target simulation source.It is a great effort in the field of polarization optics.
