As people's living standards have increased dramatically,the requirements for architecture have become more diverse.In the face of more complex models,larger scale and more diverse functions of buildings,the traditional two-dimensional design methods can no longer meet the requirements.In the traditional way,the majors of architecture models,structure models and equipment models are designed separately,independent of each other,and there is little communication between designers.This can easily lead to design conflicts among different professions.The emergence of BIM technology has solved this problem very well.BIM has three-dimensional visualization features and can provide a collaborative working platform for various professions,enabling designers to discover and resolve design conflicts in a timely manner.Applying BIM technology will help improve design quality,save design time,and reduce design costs.This paper firstly instructed BIM research and application status at home and abroad,and analyzed the attention trends and research situation of BIM.This paper regards building BIM model based on BIM technology collaborative design among various specialties as the main research direction.The main contents of this paper includes:(1)Instructed fundamental philosophy of BIM and related standard in detail of BIM,and simply analyzed the classify and application situation of BIM related software.(2)The application of BIM technology in the life cycle of construction project is discussed,and detailedly explain the application features of BIM technology at different stages.The modeling method and design process of BIM technology in the stage of engineering design are emphatically studied.(3)Combined with an example of a commercial complex,the BIM modelling software Revit was used to build the BIM model for the project.Firstly,Revit software was used to create architectural models,structural models,and equipment pipeline models for commercial complexes.Then,different professional models were integrated into one model for collaborative design research through linking,and Navisworks software was used to assist Revit software in the collision check between majors.The object of inspection is collision conflicts among the equipment pipeline professional and the building and structural components.Finally,it briefly explains the application of Revit software in other phases of the entire life cycle of a construction project.
