A Study On The Architectural Features Of The Li Family Courtyard In Wanrong County,Shanxi

The ancient architectural culture of China owns a long history,which is a symbol of the times,and also an indispensable part in the historical research.Among those,the folk house is an important part in the field of architecture.The Shanxi Area is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization.The Shanxi Commercial Compound is the masterpiece of Shanxi folk house.As the key cultural relic protection unit in China,Compound of Family Qiao is the model of Shanxi Commercial Compound.Li Family Courtyard,located in the southern part of Shanxi Area,is the only one Shanxi Commercial Compound in this area,which owns unique architectural charm and profound research value.Under the influence of traditional culture,combining with western architectural culture,it constructs the unique architectural style system of Li Family Courtyard.Taking the traditional courtyard architecture and westernized architecture of Li Family Courtyard in Yanjing Village,Wanrong County,Shanxi Province as the research object,this thesis adopts the research methods of data analysis,enumeration,and comparison to implement the comparative analysis,collation,and induction through the on-the-spot investigation,taking photos for records,and collecting related materials in Li Family Courtyard,and makes an attempt to conduct a deep analysis to the whole architectural complex in combination with other disciplines,such as sociology,history,architecture,etc.The first part of this thesis focuses on the classified elaboration to the architectural complex of Li Family Courtyard,which is mainly elaborated from three aspects:the architectural function,the architectural structure,and the architectural style;the second part of this thesis mainly researches the characteristics of the traditional courtyard architecture of Li Family Courtyard as follows: at first,it is directly embodied from the shape and structure of the building’s three elements;then it elaborates the technical treatment characteristics of thearchitectural complex;finally,it compares with the traditional building of Compound of Family Qiao in three aspects: building location,layout planning,and detailed structure;the third part of this thesis mainly centers on researching the characteristics of the westernized architecture of Li Family Courtyard as follows:at first,it elaborates the shape and structure embodiment of the westernized architecture;then it analyzes the reasons for its westernization;finally,it compares with the westernized architecture in the south of Shanxi and the middle of Shanxi to sum up the westernization characteristics.This thesis takes the Li Family Courtyard as the research object,fully embodies the characteristics of its architectural complex itself,and the common features of the residential buildings in the southern part of Shanxi Province.In comparison with the Jinzhong Courtyard,this thesis puts forward the differences of Li Family Courtyard,emphasizes the superiority of the Jinnan Courtyard,and advises us to protect and develop the ancient buildings in Jinnan area.
