Key Technology Research On Ground Charging Device For Trams With Supercapacitor Energy Storage

Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development of urban transportation in China,modern tram has been developed as an important part of the urban public transport system.The modern tram can be supplied by the super capacitor.Thus,the overhead line network can be removed compared with the traditional tram supplied by overhead line.The supercapacitor on the modern tram can be charged by the charging device installed in the tram stations during the time interval for passengers’ getting on and off.The super capacitor based modern tram has broad application prospects in the future urban traffic as it has no overhead line network and is more environmental friendly.As a result,it is of great significance to develop the charging device for the super capacitor on the modern tram,which has large charging power during short charging time.The prototype design,control strategy design and hardware system design of the charging device for the super capacitor on the modern tram are studied in this thesis.And the experimental verification is carried out to prove that the designed charging device meet all the requirements of the prototype design.The main works of this thesis are listed as follows:Firstly,the prototype design of the charging device for the super capacitor on the modern tram is demonstrated,including the system structure,circuit topology,function and output requirements of the charging device.The overall design of the super capacitor charging device is formed.Then,the control strategy design of the charging device is studied,including the detection of the tram’s import or export,the judgement of starting the charging device,control of the multiphase chopper circuit,control of the charging device for the moving tram and control of the charging device when the tram moves up and down simultaneously.Finally,the design of the charging device’s hardware system is carried out,including the design of the overall hardware structure,the rectifier transformer,the converter,the output isolation,control unit,the man-machine interface and the fault protection.The test results validate that the charging device meets the requirements of the prototype design.
