Study On Memory Regeneration In Landscape Design Of Industrial Sites

The cultural memory of the city’s native land is being filled with modern culture.Therefore,the memory of the past becomes a precious thing in people’s minds.In view of how memory design language can be used in the landscape of industrial sites,this paper takes the continuation of urban memory as the base point and the transformation of industrial sites as a breakthrough point and combines case analysis to study the expression skills of memory in old industrial sites.With rational intervention of designers,the landscape of industrial sites can be used to enhance the impression of urban culture and site culture in people’s memory.Finally,such mode is applied to my own design practice.I hope the study can find a balance point between protection and transformation of industrial sites.At first,through consultation to relevant literatures,the concept of industrial site is defined.An industrial site means a remnant left with the development of industrial production till today,which represents industrial production technology and development level of a period.Tangible structures and intangible production technologies are industrial sites.In addition,protection modes and characteristics of industrial sites are summarized correspondingly.Then,relations between industrial sites and cities are explored.Study results indicate that industrial sites are important carriers for urban cultural propagation during urban development.Next,concepts of memory are defined.Memory is deemed as a physiological reaction generated between a subject and an object based on certain media.Relations between memory and design are then analyzed.Design is the recreation based on original objects.Memory is included during each course of design.On this basis,expression kills of memory design in the landscape are summarized and classified into generalized and narrow expression skills.In the end,through analysis of domestic and foreign cases concerning industrial site transformation,expression skills of memory design in the landscape of industrial sites are summarized and applied in practice.In the end,through analysis of domestic and foreign cases concerning industrial site transformation,expression skills of memory design in the landscape of industrial sites are summarized and applied in practice.Industrial sites carry and narrate urban memory silently.Addition of memory design on this basis can better strengthen site expression of industrial culture and urban memory.
