Various industries developed rapidly with the rise economy of China,which needs more stringent requirements in traffic conditions,the quality of highway and other aspects than before.The skeleton dense asphalt concrete mixture has became the preference of pavement materials in China because of its excellent high-temperature stability,durability and skid resistance.Over the years,the research on skeleton dense asphalt concrete mixture was mainly aimed at the macroscopic pavement performance,but there are few studies on the formation process of skeleton and strength,and the correlation between the steady-state parameters of the asphalt mixture skeleton and the performance is not clear yet.This study design the gradation of the skeleton dense asphalt concrete mixture based on the classification of blending asphalt mixture design method,and combine with the digital image processing technology it could be observed that all process of mixture skeleton's balance-state transformation,as well as the skeleton parameters influence the rutting performance of asphalt mixture could be analysed and confined the reasonable range.The following research results are obtained: 1.Results indicate that with the increase of the mixing stage,the void ratio and VMA of the mixture decrease,the stability and dynamic stability improved.The maximum value of density and VFA appeared in the second mixing stage.2.The number of internal contact points increases firstly and then decreases,and the dip angle decreases,which are consistent by using the average particle size and particle size of the smallest of the analysis method.The smaller the initial dip angle of aggregate,the higher the dynamic stability index of the mixture.3.The results of the skeleton stability analysis display that there is a reasonable value of initial contact point number and the initial dip angle,which make the mixture could be compressed into a stable skeleton stone-to-stone structure with a certain compaction power,which means the number of contact points should be controlled within a reasonable range when the asphalt mixture gradation is designed.4.It could be discriminated that the influence of asphalt types on test results,with significant skeleton characteristics only,through the established dynamic stability estimation model.
