With the rapid development of sonar system,the technology of port/starboard discrimination has attracted more and more attention,and it is also one of the key technologies to be realized,and active sonar has become an important development trend of technology in the field of sonar,this paper studys the technology of port/starboard discrimination of pulse signal in active sonar system based on the vector array,with the establishment of the mathematical model of bistatic sonar system based on vector array,mainly completed the research of two kinds of the technology of port/starboard discrimination,and make comparative analysis from the aspects of their characteristics,providing the reliable base and supports for the actual detection process to solve the problem of the port/starboard discrimination.Firstly,the port/starboard discrimination problems of the towed array is introduced,and the development and research status of the resolution technology of the port/starboard discrimination are expounded.Then based on the learning of bistatic sonar system theory,signal processing method and structure characteristics of vector and vector hydrophone used in towed array,completed more than the base vector array based on active detection model,and simulation;and then study the natural vector array directivity of vector array and conventional beamforming on the formation,its starboard resolution is analyzed by theory analysis and simulation experiment.On this basis,the theoretical research and simulation analysis of the vector array port/starboard discrimination algorithm based on the cross spectrum of pressure,particle velocity and the port/starboard discrimination algorithm based on Bartlett null-beamforming are completed.The vector array port/starboard discrimination algorithm based on the cross spectrum of pressure overcomes the problem of the inhomogeneity capacity of the port/starboard discrimination during different vector angles,with the peak of screening,solving the problem of performance degradation of beam mismatch,making it more conducive to signal detection,but it cannot distinguish between multiple signals with the same frequency;the port/starboard discrimination algorithm based on Bartlett null-beamforming can distinguish multiple signals with the same frequency,and repress the false peaks,so it has better ability to distinguish port/starboard.Finally,analyzes and summarizes the performance effects of signal-to-noise ratio,bandbroadening,shape distortion on the starboard resolution methods,completes simulation and verifies the feasibility of using the port/starboard discrimination method of field experiment data.
