Research On On-line Warning Device Of UPS Battery Life

Abstract/Summary:
UPS is an extremely important back-up power supply battery,and the battery pack as a core part of UPS,is also the part that is most likely to fail.Once the UPS battery gets aged and failed,it may cause safety accidents with huge economic losses,and even endanger personal safety.Therefore,in order to guarantee the operation of UPS safely and reliably,and prevent the occurrence of production accidents,it is of great necessarily for us to study on the detection device of UPS storage life.To begin with,this paper studies the basic technical parameters,working process and failure mechanism of UPS battery,which reveals the close relationship between the internal resistance and battery life.Then several traditional detection methods of battery internal resistance are introduced,through analysis and comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of those methods,the AC four-wire injection method is chosen as the final detection method of battery internal resistance.At the same time,wavelet denoising algorithm,a more reliable and more flexible algorithm,is also used for optimizing the deficiencies of traditional detection methods,like high cost,easily affected by noise and so on,which provides a theoretical basis for the development of warning device of UPS battery life.Secondly,the software and hardware of the UPS battery life warning device were specifically designed in this paper.In the hardware part,a constant current source module and detection circuit module are designed,each of which can generate a specific frequent electricity and extract a weak signal in noise respectively,and through the Multisim simulation,feasibility of the circuit is verified.In the software part,based on the functional requirements of the hardware circuit,the DSP code compilation for GPIO strobe,AD conversion,and communication parts of SPI and SCI are completed.At the same time,in order to be convenient for the users to operate it,the human-computer interaction interface is designed on the host computer development platform of Lab VIEW,and through the mixed programming of Lab VIEW and MATLAB,the wavelet denoising processing of the signal was completed,thereby the function of warning of the battery life is realized.Finally,an experimental platform was set up to verify the utility of the life warning device of the UPS battery.By analyzing and comparing the experimental data measured by the device in this paper and the data measured by existing battery internal resistance test products on the market,it is proved that this device can accurately measure the internal resistance value of the battery and estimate its remaining capacity,which has the certain practical value.
