| Nowadays,the automobile industry has been growing rapidly,and engines as the core component of a car have been developed in a fast pace as well.When we are trying to advance engine’s technology,not only performance gets pumped up,but also it is increasing fuel economy,so that is the reason why scientists have treated the engine’s technology improvement as a main study subject.Spark plug is an important part of auto engine,and it transfers a pulsed high voltage generated by engine ignition system into electric spark in order to ignite mixed gases inside cylinders.Thus,the spark plug plays a very big role on the engine’ s performance.Each engine whose matched spark plug is possible to be different.Ignition speed and service life time are key indicators to determine whether or not a spark plug is great.This article is focusing on improving spark plugs’ performances in manufacturing process.The main contents of the research are below:1)By combining related domestic and foreign documents,analyzing previous manufacturing processes and equipment structures,and comparing advantages and disadvantages,we can come up with an advanced manufacturing process which is better than previously proposals.Based on the improvement strategies,we can choose to develop side electrode servo butt-weld motors in order to have a more matured production process in the shell butt-welding area.2)According to the design parameters and structure requirements of a spark plug’s shell manufacturing process,we can design two-dimensional plane size of related parts,make butt-weld motor parts,assemble the parts,and then calculate the basic performance metrics of the servo motor.3)By using Solidworks software,we can create a three-dimensional butt-weld motor model,simulate a camshaft box work at the completion of butt-welding,calculate camshaft’s rotational moment force,estimate the power of the side electrode servo butt-weld motor based on the force,and then pick a suitable device for this motor.4)By using Mitsubishi PLC,we can perform electric control on side electrode servo butt-weld motor,write welding and shearing programs,and build complete control loop.By constantly adjusting and commissioning PLC and hardware equipment,we can achieve normal production on shells and side electrodes welding.5)We can do comparison between previous butt-weld motor’s manufacture samples and developed side electrode servo butt-weld motor’s manufacture samples,do mirroring experiments on shells after finish spark plug butt-welding,analyze the end surface condition,and do the welding strength detection. |
