Research On The Design Of Roof Space Utilization In Urban School Building

The intensification of urbanization has led to the gradual reduction of urban construction land.The continuous reform and development of primary and secondary education put forward new requirements for the school construction land.Contradiction between land issues and education development issues has become increasingly prominent.Under the condition of limited land resources,this paper proposes use of the roof space of school for the purpose of solving the contradiction between the use of land in school and the development of education.Then,how to use the roof space of school building to design has become the key to this study.Based on the school design project completed in BEIJING JIANGONG ARCHITECTURAL AND DESIGN INSTITUTE,investigated 20 schools in cities,recorded the status of the roof space utilization design,analyzed the characteristics of the roof space,and calculated the type of outdoor activities,interviews with principals,major substitute teachers,etc.,have mastered students' behavioral characteristics.In addition,analyzes and studies relevant cases of roof space utilization design of urban school,summarizes their design techniques,and proposes three methods for the design of roof space utilization in urban school.The paper first describes the research background,purpose and significance,research status at home and abroad,content and methods,defines the scope of the study and related concepts,and summarizes the development and utilization value of the roof space of urban schools.Then based on the needs of students in primary and secondary schools,analyzes the characteristics of outdoor activities of primary and secondary school students and the spatial characteristics of the roof space of school,narrates the relationship between outdoor activities and roof space,and selected the appropriate design for each type.Subsequently discuss the design method of the specific design form from three aspects: First,roof farm design that meets the needs of teaching practice;the second is the design of roof sports fields that meet the needs of sports;and the third is the roof garden design that meets the needs of casual games.Finally,we concluded that we must make reasonable use of the roof space in urban school to solve the problem of insufficient campus land.
