The monumental timber structure of Ming and Qing dynasty have important historical, cultural and artistic values and are valuable treasures of the Chinese civilization. With long history, the existing ancient building structures generally suffer from various degrees of damage, which will affect the seismic performance of the structure. The research of the seismic performance of the current structure and the influence of its damage factors on the seismic performance is an important basis for the maintenance and reinforcement of ancient wood structures, and it is also an urgent problem for the protection of ancient buildings. In this paper, based on the study of the seismic performance of the joints, the western side-hall of Happiness Palace and Hall of Alignment with the Dao were chose as the research object.A more suitable structural model was established to evaluate the seismic performance of the whole structure, and the impact of the damage factor on the structure was discussed. The mainly contents are as follows:Firstly, taking the west node of the western side-hall of Happiness Palace as an example, solid models of the Dougong,mortise-tenon,and column foot were established to study its seismic performance, and the effect of degradation of material on the performance of the joint was discussed.Secondly, based on the results of the node analysis and taking the existence of the damage factor into account, the intact model and current damage model of the whole structure of the western side-hall are established, and seismic performance and its differences of the two models are obtained through seismic fragility analysis. And by comparing the results of the model without considering the effect of energy dissipation of Dougong with the intact model,it is found that not considering the effect of energy dissipation of Dougong has small affect on the results of seismic fragility analysis. Finally, according to the aforementioned conclusions, the whole structure model of Hall of Alignment with the Dao was established and the seismic fragility analysis of the models with single damage factor were conducted. The results show that the damage of the material has the greatest impact on the seismic performance of the Hall of Alignment with the Dao compared with the damage of Donggong,mortise-tenon,and column foot.
