The Chinese traditional timber structure carries the long history and culture of China,so its value is immeasurable.As the last stage of the development of Chinese traditional architecture,the Ming and Qing dynasty preserved a large number of architectural objects,especially the monumental timber structures of Ming and Qing dynasty.However,environmental factors such as rainwater,insects,and earthquakes have caused more and more serious damage to these traditional timber structures.Therefore,it is extremely urgent to repair and reinforce these traditional timber structures.In order to carry out the protection of traditional timber structures scientifically and rationally,this paper first discussed the mechanical properties of typical joints of traditional timber structures.On this basis,one of the typical Ming and Qing dynasty traditional timber structures was selected as the object of analysis,and the overall horizontal seismic performance of the model was studied.First of all,this paper quantitatively analyzed the influence degree of different factors on the bending performance of dovetail joints and figured the most significant three factors.Based on this,the formula for the moment-rotation relationship of dovetail joints was proposed and simulated.The validity of the formula was verified and can be directly used for the analysis of the overall structure.Secondly,took the brackets as the research object,this paper established a formula for calculating the horizontal force-displacement relationship of the brackets that can take into account the factors such as the joint size and the wood properties,the accuracy of the formula was confirmed by comparing with the test results.Used directly for engineering applications.Finally,combined on the results of field surveys and the research results of the typical joints mentioned above,this paper established the FE model of the Ming and Qing dynasty traditional timber structure Hall of Alignment with the Dao.The reliability of the model was verified by comparing with on-site dynamic test results.On this basis,the static elastic-plastic analysis of the structure was carried out,and the overall horizontal seismic performance of the traditional timber structure was explored.At last,the maintenance and reinforcement suggestions were given.
