China's automotive parts manufacturing industries has such problems as backward management concepts and serious waste.With the deepening of economic globalization,industrialized countries in the West are building factories in China,making the automotive parts market more competitive.Only by changing the traditional production mode,increasing production efficiency and reducing costs can China's automotive parts manufacture companies take a place in the market.The article analyzes the current status of work study at domestic and abroad,and finds that work study is an effective way to increase business productivity.Then,the article analyses and summarizes of relevant theories,and applies work study to a specific company to solve the problem of low productivity.This article investigates the current situation of Y Company and finds that Y Company is facing the problem of low production efficiency.The Causality diagram is used to analyze the causes of low productivity from the five aspects of workers,equipment,materials,work methods and environment,and then determines the decisive factors affecting productivity.Then,the paper applies work research to improve productivity.Through the craft procedure analysis and the flow procedure analysis in method study,it is found that there is too much waiting and transportation waste in the instrument panel assembly process.The process was optimized by using 5W1H questioning technology and ECRS principles.Through the comparison of the time spent by each station,the bottleneck station was found.The article further carries out a more detailed analysis of the two-handed operation of the bottleneck station and effectively improves the operation method.The workbench is rationally arranged following the economic principles of operation to simplify operations.On the basis of the method study,the stopwatch time study was performed on the assembly process.First,the assembly process is divided into 30 operating units.Second,the number of observations for each operating unit is determined.Third,the operating time of each operating unit is measured by stopwatch,and according to the Grubbs criterion,the Outliers are eliminated to obtain the actual operating time.After that,the actual operating time is corrected to obtain the normal time.Then the standard operating time for each operating unit is determined taking into account the wide release time.Finally,a comparison was made before and after the work study applied in Y Company to clarify the effect of the improvement.Through the research of the article,in Y Company,the waste and production cost is effectively reduced,production efficiency is improved.It is helpful for Y Company to enhance its overall competitiveness.In addition,the research results of this article have played an important role in promoting application of work study to automotive parts manufacturing industries and the research ideas in this paper can also serve as a reference for other companies to apply work study to solve the problem of low production efficiency.
