Analysis And Research On Car-free City Parking System Layout

At present,as the urbanism development of Chinese's cities and the increasing trend of car ownership,traffic congestion and environment issue are getting serious in China.Car-oriented development is the key model of urban planning theme in some cities.Also,the travel ratio of public transportation and pedestrian are lower than private car travel.The issues of urban environment are getting serious.In this stage,the local designer and government have been trying to relieve those issues with different strategies.But,some of the strategies could not be able to change the historical road network and the car congestion still getting worse in the center of a city.For this problem,some cities are leading a car-free activity in Europe.The literature review has begun with the analysis of car-free theory systems and the elements of car-free cities.The research of car-free theories system,car-free cities' elements analysis,car-free city transportation analysis,the car-free city parking facilities planning and the case studies are the primary and secondary resources of this paper.The principle works are as follows:First of all,related research on car-free activities and car-free theories system.This paper will introduce concepts and features of car-free development,car-free city models,and car-free neighbors.Secondly,the strategy of car-free parking system will combine with the regional characteristics,land use,road network capacity and bus system in this research.According to the parking layout mechanism of car-free urban areas,the planning of parking facilities does examine.First of all,this paper predicts the balance between supply and demand of parking facilities in the car-free urban area.The models analyze the parking facilities demand and conclude the planning method of parking system layout in the car-free urban area.Finally,applying analogical analysis,this paper shows the typical car-free urban cities in Europe,including the study of metropolitan background information,urban land use,distribution of commercial and public facilities,parking supply rate,the status of urban parking,the planning and layout of parking facilities.
