At the time of the planning and design of the main road intersection,most attention was paid to the types of intersections and timing design of signal control lights.However,no attention was paid to the distance between intersections,and the spacing was large or small.The existing specifications only specify a distance of not less than 150 m at the intersection,and it is not widely representative.The traffic jam on the main road usually occurs at the intersection area.Due to some reasons,the phenomenon of vehicles waiting at the intersection is queuing.This phenomenon is especially obvious during the peak period,and the traffic at the junction will be further queuing at the downstream intersection.The impact caused a greater range of congestion,and there is less research on the queue length model at the intersection.Based on this background,for the inconsistent spacing between branch junctions and adjacent intersections,the combination of field survey data,software micro-simulation and theoretical analysis will be used to analyze the factors affecting the distance between intersections and establish the queuing length model of intersections and branch crossings.Based on this model,establishes the minimum distance model of the intersection and the adjacent intersection.(1)The definition and influence of branch junctions and adjacent intersectionsThis article first redefines the intersection and different intersections on the main road.Based on the above definition,analyze and summarize the establishment of the distance pattern between branch crossings and different intersections.The impact of the lack of intersection spacing on the traffic safety and traffic capacity of urban roads was introduced.(2)Survey statistical analysis of main road traffic characteristicsSecond,according to the division of the spacing pattern,the traffic data at intersections and branch crossings on the main road were investigated.According to the survey data,statistical analysis of traffic volume and speed was carried out.According to the traffic flow theory and traffic survey data,the speed-flow model at each intersection was established.Establish a headway distribution function suitable for different traffic volumes on the main road.Analyzes and summarizes the factors that affect the distance between intersections.(3)Model Parameter Correction and Queue Length Analysis and ModelingAnalyze the queuing status of intersections and branch exits and the factors that affect the queue length.According to the traffic survey data,the model parameters were corrected.Establish simulation models for VISSIM simulation intersections and branch crossings.Based on the data collected after the simulation test,SPSS software was used to establish the regression ratio relationship between queue length and influencing factors.According to the proportional relationship,a queuing length model for the entrance lanes at intersections and branch road junctions was summarized.(4)Minimum distance model between branch junctions and adjacent intersectionsFinally,according to the interval pattern division,the minimum distance combination is set up,and the lane transformation theory is adopted,and the minimum distance model of the upstream and downstream branch and the adjacent intersection,the branch outlet and the expressway entrance and exit ramp is obtained.According to the minimum distance model,the minimum distance is calculated by combining the traffic characteristic velocity flow model and the head time distance,and the final minimum distance is calculated according to the model value.Through this research,it can provide the basis for the location of the main road branch and the intersection of the main road,which is of great significance to improve the traffic condition and operation efficiency of the whole city.
