The masonry structure is a kind of structural form which has been destroyed seriously during the past earthquakes.In order to investigate the impact of different structural arrangement on the seismic performance of masonry structure,the masonry structure group of Beichuan County traffic bureau,in the disaster area of Wenchuan earthquake,is analyzed and the earthquake damage characteristics of the group are summarized in this paper.A,B and E buildings from the Beichuan County Traffic Bureau are modeled based on the finite element analysis software ABAQUS,and the seismic performance of masonry structures with different structural arrangements are preliminarily explored based on the results of numerical simulation.The main work and findings in this paper are as follows:1.The seismic damage of masonry structure is summarized,and the damage of masonry structure group of Beichuan traffic bureau is introduced in detail.It is found that the design defects that cause earthquake damage are the bottom arrangement has a larger bay,discontinuous arrangement ofearthquake resistant wall and short seismic joint setting.2.By the modal measurement results of 27 six layer masonry structures in Yanjiao Economic Development Zone,the empirical formula of the first order frequency with high confidence is fitted linearly.The modal measurement of the E building of the Beichuan County traffic bureau after the earthquake was measured and compared with the first order frequency obtained from the empirical formula.The results showed that the longitudinal first frequency of the E building is slightly changed.The reliability of the numerical model is verified by empirical formula.3.Finite element software ABAQUS is used to model the masonry structure of Beichuan County Traffic Bureau A,B and E buildings,and then the seismic waves are selected to perform the elastoplastic dynamic time history analysis.The accuracy of the numerical analysis can be verified by comparing the story drift ratio,wall tensile damage and shear stress of the bottom wall,which are used as the damage index.By comparing results with the actual earthquake damages phenomenon.By comparing the influence of the structure layout of A,B and E buildings of the masonry structure within the calculation results,it is found that the reasons of A,B buildings' damage worse than E building are that the inner longitudinal wall is too short,discontinuous arrangement of earthquake resistant wall and short seismic joint setting.
