| Today’s world building construction technology has become increasingly mature and perfect;however,the domestic rural new residential buildings are relatively backward,giving priority to simplicity.It simply copies the elements of European or American architecture in decoration,resulting in the similarity among the modern Chinese rural new houses and the obvious dating with the local historical buildings,which lacks of regional characteristics.The reasons behind them,in addition to the insufficiency in building construction technology,conceptual design,and economic conditions etc.,it mainly lies in the lack of self-confidence in local cultural aspect.The way to make Chinese rural construction develop in the direction of "Chinese style" and "localization" spontaneously and naturally,rather than to wait for government’ s guidance,intervention and investment is a problem that worth reflection to experts in architectural field.The paper shall start from the current situation and existing problems of the new houses in the suburbs and the short comings of the commonly used techniques in the current rural building renovation.Then it shall return to the concern and thinking of the rural local humanities and natural environment,and historical building by analyzing some of the outstanding cases of the transformation of rural construction and combining with the theoretical basis of building renovation and regional architecture,in order to promote the combination of practical use and aesthetic on the transformation of rural new residential buildings,and to absorb critically and re-interpret the traditional regional ar-chitectural elements,rather than the blindly imitation or the simple direct misappropriation.The paper also proposes the scheme strategy of transforming the modern rural residential buildiners.which is possessed with the modern function and meets with the modern aesthetic.It is also called the innovative expression of regional elements,which is to explore the new direction of transforming or constructing new rural residential buildings in the future.Finally,based on the above theoretical foundations and the summary of the study and research of the excellent cases,this paper carries out the design practice of modification scheme on the two residential buildings that are located in front of the village,Qingqiao Village,Haicang District,Xiamen City.The papers divided into four sections.The beginning section mainly discusses the purpose and significance of the study,defines the study content and related concepts and reviews the relevant researches at home and abroad;The second section mainly analyzes the existing problems of the current situation about the suburban rural buildings and the existing shortcomings of the commonly used transformation techniques;Aiming at the existing problems mentioned at the second part,the third section sums up the regional expression strategy of the new residential buildings transformation through researching the theoretical foundations and analyzing the excellent cases;The fourth section carries out the design practice on the actual case according to the concluded strategy. |
