Abstract/Summary:
With the acceleration of urbanization and energy consumption in our country,energy saving in construction sector attracts more attention than ever before.Compared with the active building energy-saving technology,passive building energy-saving technology is more favored.In the process of long-term construction,traditional dwellings have developed a set of simple self-built system to adapt to the local climate passively which reflects the wisdom of local people.This paper has summarized the types and the patio interface of traditional patio-style dwellings in Hunan Province through the investigation and research on natural ventilation methods of patios of traditional dwellings in Hunan Province.The main content of this paper is divided into five chapters and summarized as follows.The first chapter discusses the background,purpose and meaning of the research and reviews the related research about climate adaptability of traditional houses and patios at home and abroad.In addition,it describes the main contents,methods and frameworks of the research.The second chapter argues that the natural ventilation is the primary method to deal with the hot and humid climate of Hunan Province.Through the study on natural ventilation theory,this chapter extracts five natural ventilation modes in patio,in order to provide a theoretical basis for further quantitative research of natural ventilation.The third chapter summarizes the preliminary documents and first-hand information.it investigates planar forms and types of traditional patio-style dwellings in Hunan Province and studys on the interface forms and interface space combinations of patios in traditional dwellings from the perspective of typology.The fourth chapter analyzes the ventilation capacity of four typical single patio space systems by means of ventilation simulation.It probes the influences on ventilation by the changes of opening dimension,height and opening dimension in vertical interface of patios in typical ventilation system of "room" combination and summarizes the ventilation methods and effective scale of patios.The fifth chapter verifies that the natural ventilation method and scale of patios in traditional dwellings is valid by comparing ventilation simulation results of the previous townhouse and optimized townhouse.In summary,this paper is aimed to draw effective scale of patio,which can be applied in modern case as a passive energy-saving technology,and provides a reference for the modern renewal of traditional technologies and the development of passive energy-saving technologies.
