With the rapid development of China's urbanization,preschool education undertakings have received the unprecedented attention of the whole society.The safety of kindergartens is the fundamental premise for the development of preschool education undertakings.The period of childhood is an important stage for the development and formation of human intelligence,thinking,qualities and most of psychological traits.Due to the unique characteristics of children's body,psychology,dimension and behavior,the security requirement for kindergarten buildings is totally different from that for other types of buildings.The reason is that children grow quickly with poor stability and are easily injured for the objective environment and their own negligence.As a result,the safety design of kindergartens is certainly the fundamental requirement for the architectural design of kindergartens and also the first link of the safety protection of kindergartens.The paper starts from the indoor and outdoor environment of kindergarten buildings,probes into the problems related to the safety of the indoor and outdoor environment of kindergarten buildings and puts forward corresponding design strategies in terms of the safety factors of the indoor and outdoor environment.The first chapter describes topic selection background and the safety of kindergartens,emphasizes the importance of the indoor and outdoor environment of kindergarten buildings to the safety of children and expounds the purpose and significance of the topic and the demarcation of relevant concepts.The second chapter focuses on the characteristics of children,environment-behavior studies and the theories related to the architectural design of kindergartens,summarizes the domestic and foreign research results and theori es relevant to children,analyzes the physiological,psychological and behavioral characteristics of children from three to six years old in detail and takes it as the theoretical foundation of the safety design of kindergarten buildings.The third chapter conducts on-the-spot investigations on many kindergartens in Changsha City by means of field research and attempts to summarize the current safety problems existing in the indoor and outdoor environment of kindergarten buildings through analyzing investigation results.The fourth chapter begins with the indoor and outdoor environment of kindergarten buildings,pays close attention to the contents of safety design related to the outdoor environment of kindergartens and proposes corresponding design strategies and methods according to different contents.The fifth chapter is similar to the fourth chapter,focuses on the indoor environment of kindergarten buildings,introduces the contents of safety design related to the indoor environment of kindergartens in detail and comes up with corresponding design methods.In conclusion,the paper always puts the safety of the architectural design of kindergartens in the first place,puts forward some measures and design methods of protecting the safety of children according to two factors including the indoor and outdoor environment and hopes these contents about the safety design of kindergartens to contribute to solving some potential safety hazards existing in the kindergartens of China at present,enable children to grow healthily in a secure environment and lay the foundation for promoting the development of preschool education undertakings.
