With the increasingly serious global environmental problems,more and more enterprises begin to adopt policies and management measures for sustainable development,which requires the active participation and supportive response of employees.Therefore,the concept of employee organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment has gradually attracted the attention of scholars.Leadership is an important link between the organization and employees,and its leadership style profoundly influences the behavior of employees.As a new way of leadership,the servant type emphasizes serving employees,taking social responsibility and abiding by ethics.These measures are in great agreement with the values embodied in the organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment.Therefore,this study attempts to combine servant leadership with employee environmental protection organization citizen behavior to explore the relationship between the two roles.Through reviewing and combing the relevant literature,this study,guided by the theory of emotional events and self-determination,constructs a multi-level structural equation model,which introduces positive emotion and pro-social motivation into the analytical framework,and deeply explores the internal mechanism of servant leadership affecting the employee organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment from both cognitive and emotional perspectives.In addition,this study mainly used the form of leader and employee questionnaire matching and filling out,through the field and network channels to distribute the questionnaire.Finally,we got a total of 394 valid sample data.Based on the valid sample data,our study makes a cross-hierarchical analysis to test the hypothesis of the study,and the final results show that:(1)The Servant Leadership is promoting the organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment;(2)Servant leaders can positively influence the positive emotions of employees,while positive emotions can promote employees' organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment;(3)Positive emotions is a partial mediator between servant leadership and organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment;(4)Servant leadership will promote the pro-social motivation of employees,and the pro-social motivation will help to stimulate employees' organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment;(5)Pro-social motivation fully mediated the relationship between servant leadership and organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment;(6)Servant leadership can positively influence organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment through both positive emotionand pro-social motivation.On the one hand,the above research results enrich the research of servant leadership and organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment.On the other hand,it provides some guidance and reference for enterprises to stimulate employees' organizational citizenship behaviors for the environment and realize sustainable development.
