Research Of "Huyuan" Fashion Of The Ming Dynasty

"Huyuan" fashion is an important part of the dress culture system of the Ming Dynasty.The specific expression of "Huyuan" fashion of the dress culture of the Ming Dynasty in headwear and clothes as well as the acceptance process of the Ming people is investigated and the application of "Huyuan" dress elements in the design of modern Han Fu is explored on the basis of literature records,existing images and unearthed objects in this paper.The paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is introduction to mainly summarize the historical background,research significance,research status and research method of the paper.The historical background of Huyuan fashion of the dress culture of the Ming Dynasty is introduced in the first section.Emperor Taizu of the early Ming Dynasty decreed an order about "the prohibition of Hu Dress",but "Hu Dress" still existed.The Ming Court decreed some related orders repeatedly,but the actual effect was very small,which reflected the great effect of "Huyuan" fashion on the dress culture of the Ming Dynasty.The research on "Huyuan" fashion of the dress culture of the Ming Dynasty is helpful to the promotion of cultural consciousness and cultural self-confidence as well as the enrichment and promotion on the research on the dress culture of the Ming Dynasty.The research status and research objective of academic circles on "Huyuan" fashion of the dress culture of the Ming Dynasty are introduced respectively in the second section and in the third section.There are rare academic achievements on the research project as well as great room for the development of the research on "Huyuan" fashion of the dress culture of the Ming Dynasty at present.The plan to study Huyuan fashion of the dress culture of the Ming Dynasty is introduced in the fourth section.Triple Evidence Method is adopted to study the remains of "Huyuan" fashion of the dress culture of the Ming Dynasty from the perspective of documents,images,and objects.The expression of "Huyuan" fashion in the headwear of the Ming Dynasty is investigated in the second chapter of the paper.It is found that the structure of some Huyuan hats was still basically unchangeable in the Ming Dynasty,such as Watermelon Hat,Tile Hat and Hat with Curly Edge.Some hats were improved,such as Great Hat with Straight Edge and Bali Hat.Great Hat with Straight Edge and Tile Hat even led the fashion.They were spread to all walks of life and widely recognized and used by the Ming people.Finally,they became the classic headwear of the Ming Dynasty.The expression of "Huyuan" fashion in the Ming Dynasty is investigated in the third chapter of the paper.It is found that some "Huyuan" headwear was basically unchangeable in the Ming Dynasty.For example,only the sleeve length and hem of Da Hu were slightly adjusted.The shape and function of some "Huyuan" headwear were changed in the Ming Dynasty,such as Yesa,Bijia and Chest & Back Dress.Among them,the chest and back element became a kind of decoration as well as an important symbol to distinguish the grade of official positions.Yesa and Bijia both led the fashion in different fields and were spread and highly recognized in various strata of the Ming Dynasty.The application of "Huyuan" dress elements of the Ming Dynasty in modern fashion design is explored in the fourth chapter of the paper.The questionnaire survey method is adopted to investigate the modern people's acceptance and consumption of Hanfu in the Ming Dynasty and the problems and suggestions of the modern people on Hanfu design are analyzed in the first section.Some appropriate "Huyuan" dress elements are extracted to complete the design of "Huyuan" element of Hanfu of the Ming Dynasty in line with the contemporary aesthetic in the second section.The fifth chapter is conclusion.It is found that the "Huyuan" dress element played a profound role in the development of the dress culture of the Ming Dynasty.It was spread to many classes.There was a penetration situation among different classes.There were mainly four factors.First of all,some Huyuan clothes were endowed with good practicability,which met the daily need of the Ming people.Secondly,some Huyuan clothes were quite fashionable,which met the aesthetic need of the Ming people.Thirdly,some "Huyuan" clothes were endowed with the function to symbolize and distinguish the social classes and assist rulers in the management on various classes.Finally,the Ming people were liberated physically and mentally due to the laxity of the national dress system and the development of commodity economy as well as the emergence of enlightenment thoughts in the middle and later period of the Ming Dynasty.The common people were eager to experience the life of nobles.At this time,the arrogation of clothes provided a channel for the people to realize it."Huyuan" fashion clothes were also widely used in the Ming Dynasty for this reason.The dress element of "Huyuan" of the Ming Dynasty was combined with the modern dress element so as to be integrated into the modern life for the popularization and promotion on the traditional dress culture in the design of the modern Hanfu.
