The tea culture stems from our country, well-established and has a long and glorious history. From pre-Qin as far to Sui and Tang dynasties, especially since Tang, because of its moral character and the style, Tea had been successfully playing an important role in people's daily life, and it turned out to be prior to other drinks. In Ming Dynasty, the tea culture was more colorful and had great varieties. In Ming Dynasty people drank tea in a different way from before. When Tang and Song, the ways people deal with tea were mainly frying and boil. Tea was squash to be caky after steaming blue and it must be milled before decoction, then boiled with water or pouring boiling water onto tea in the teacup. The Ming Dynasty broke a new ground in drinking tea , and people would soak tea in cruse and drink in the cup, which was full of delight and savor .The way still has a great influence today.This paper is a preliminary study on Ming Dynasty tea art. Tea, tea sets, environment of drinking tea will be discussed one by one from historical literature . The literature part has detailed explanation of some typical writings one by one basing on the general understanding of Ming Dynasty tea literature, involving tea monograph, note, novel and so on, in order to reappear this tea art faithfully, comprehensively and aplenty.There are reasons and conditions in tea chapter why the new craft-frying tea, people's enjoyment of tasty tea and the idea of tasty tea turned up in Ming Dynasty, centring around requests for tea with good quality among people in Ming Dynasty.Tea set part clearly demonstrate the approximate vein of tea set's development in ancient times as well as innovation and inheritance of Ming Dynasty tea set, for example, changes of its shape, color and size, sand-fired pot's emerging and its popularity. Besides, it will analyze causes of all these transformations, that is, social reason, culture and psychological demands.People in Ming Dynasty paid more attention to the environment of drinking tea comparing with their ancestor, such as when and where to drink, tabu, tea companion's status, the savor, how much tea put into, the servant and so on. There are further discussions centering on the above content in the last part.
