Due to the characteristics of the construction workers’ work, fatigue is easy to occur on construction site.Fatigue is an important cause of frequent safety accidents. However,in existing research, there are still subjective deviations in the evaluation of fatigue degree, and the research on the fatigue and safety of construction workers lacks the feasibility of promotion on construction site. Therefore, based on the existing research, the present study measured the unsafe behavior data and physiological signals of construction workers through simulation experiments. In this way,the association between construction workers’ fatigue and unsafe behavior was explored more objectively.First, the typical manual handling task was selected as the experimental task to measure the unsafe behavior data of workers.Based on existing research, the experiment scheme was improved in combination with the requirements of the present study. The physical and psychological fatigue types were involved.Through pre-experiment,the important parameters in the experiment were determined, and the feasibility of the experimental scheme was verified. At the same time, the present study introduced physiological measurement in the experiment.Comprehensively considering the simplicity of physiological signal measurement, the correlation with the research and the possibility of promotion on construction site, some physiological signals and measurement equipment were initially selected.Through pre-experiment,physiological indicators related to physical and mental fatigue were further selected. An experiment with 10 construction workers was conducted.Through quantitative analysis, the effects of physical and mental fatigue on task errors and risk tendency were explored, and the association between physiological indicators and unsafe behaviors was quantitatively described. The main conclusions included: 1.both physical and mental fatigue had a negative effect on human cognitive ability and exercise capacity, and the effect was more serious when both of them existed;2.mental fatigue was easy to change people’s risk tendency, making them more willing to choose risks, and people in physical and mental fatigue at the same time were willing to take more risky choices;3.two regression equations of physiological indicators and task errors were established, finding task errors were positively correlated with skin electricity, respiratory rate,LF/HF,and negatively correlated with the standard deviation of skin electricity, skin temperature,RR interval,SDNN,and HFnorm. Finally, implications of the above conclusions for fatigue management on construction site were discussed.Based on the measurement of physiological indicators, the present study built a simulation test platform, and explored the association between fatigue and unsafe behavior of construction workers more objectively. The present study provided a feasible method for the acquisition of construction workers’ behavior and physiological data, and also provided a theoretical basis for fatigue monitoring and management on construction site.
