Study On The Influence Of FDI Quality On Ecological Efficiency

Foreign direct investment(FDI)plays a very important role in the economic development of a country.However,with the rapid promotion of foreign direct investment on economic development,ecological and environmental issues have become increasingly prominent.Ecological efficiency is a comprehensive reflection of economy,resources and environment.The impact of foreign direct investment on ecological efficiency has also received more and more attention.China's regional economic development is uneven,and there are differences in ecological efficiency levels.Foreign direct investment in different regions varies in size and type.On the basis of theoretical analysis,we attempt to explore the impact of FDI quality on ecological efficiency from the perspective of regional spatial distribution and dynamic evolution.Using the datas from 2006 to 2016,we take the 30 provinces(urban areas)in China(excluding Tibet,Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan)as research object.On the basis of theoretical analysis,we measure and analyze the level of FDI quality and ecological efficiency.Secondly,we use non-parametric kernel density estimation to analyze the spatial distr ibution characteristics and dynamic evolution process of ecological efficiency and FDI quality.And the bivariate Moran index is used to analyze the spatial correlation between FDI quality and ecological efficiency.Finally,based on the results of spatial distribution and dynamic evolution,the spatial Dubin model(SDM)was used to study the impact of national and regional FDI quality on ecological efficiency.The analysis results show that the spatial distribution and evolution process of eco-efficiency across the country is consistent with the FDI quality indicators.The results of bivariate Moran index test indicate that there is a spatial positive correlation between FDI quality and ecological efficiency.Spatial econometric results show that FDI quality has a positive impact on ecological efficiency,and there is a positive spatial spillover effect,but the impact of different FDI quality indicators on ecological efficiency is also different in different regions.Specifically,the quality of FDI technology management measured by single scale,technology and management has a positive impact on ecological efficiency,while the quality of FDI economy driven by export and profit has no significant impact on ecological efficiency.For the eastern region,the impact of FDI quality on ecological efficiency is significantly positive,and there is a significant positive spatial spillover effect;for the central region,the impact of FDI quality on ecological efficiency is not significant,while for the western region,only the quality of FDI technology management has a significant positive impact on ecological efficiency.
