Study On The Design Of Self-purchased Portable Furniture For Low And Middle Income Renters

With the rising prices of commodity housing,middle and low-income people need to rely on rental housing to solve the housing problem.In order to reduce the rent,middle and low-income people often rent poor rental housing facilities,such as incomplete furniture allocation.In addition,middle and low-income people will have to move frequently to seek cheap rental housing because of rising rents.Research on the design of portable furniture purchased by middle and low-income tenants is conducive to meeting the needs of people in their lives and adapting to the current situation of frequent relocation.Firstly,this paper uses the method of household entry and questionnaire survey to study the furniture demand of middle and low-income renters.Secondly,by using the method of literature analysis and induction,through visiting expert users,the design elements of portable furniture are summarized,and the importance of the design elements of portable furniture is studied by questionnaire survey.Thirdly,the portable measurement evaluation method is put forward,and the feasibility of the method is verified by empirical research,and the portable evaluation index is determined.Fourthly,aiming at lightweight and portability,this paper explores the way to realize portable furniture from the perspective of function,structure and material.Finally,the research results are tested through the practice of portable furniture design.The main results are as follows:(1)The middle and low-income tenants are mainly young people aged 22-35,accounting for 74.9%.The proportion of middle and low-income tenants who have purchased furniture such as tables,chairs and stools,wardrobes,shoe cabinets and lockers is 41.67%,38.33%,35%,25% and 18.33%,respectively.In terms of modelling,they prefer modern simplicity and Nordic furniture style;in terms of material,they prefer wood,plastic,cloth and metal;and they can accept the range of 100-1000 yuan in terms of price.(2)72.94% of the tenants want to buy their own furniture with portable function,47.84% of the tenants will definitely take away furniture when they move,and 43.14% of the tenants choose whether to take furniture or not depending on the situation.(3)Screen out three first-level elements of appearance,practicality and economy,nine secondlevel elements of style,color,shape,function,material,structure,technology,portability and price,and 35 third-level elements.Among the first-level factors,the highest weight of practical factors is 0.6653,followed by economic factors and external factors,whose weights are 0.2139 and 0.1208,respectively.Among the secondary elements,the highest weight of functional elements is 0.2528,followed by price,technology,structure and portability,with weights of 0.2139,0.1420,0.1112 and 0.0953,respectively.The weights of material,shape,color and style elements are lower.Among the three factors,the order of higher weight is: cost performance,comfort,craftsmanship,safety,price positioning and user matching,furniture packaging volume,versatility,material safety and environmental protection,etc.(4)Portability of portable wardrobe volume method,weight method and counting step method are calculated according to the following formulas: package volume is divided by wardrobe volume,packing weight is divided by wardrobe volume,disassembling steps are divided by wardrobe volume.Portability of portable table volume method,weight method and counting step method are calculated according to the following formulas: the package volume is divided by the tabletop area,the package weight is divided by the tabletop area,the number of disassembling steps are divided by the tabletop area.Portability of portable seats is calculated by following formulas: the volume of the package is divided by the number of seats,the weight of the package divided by the number of seats,the number of disassembling steps divided by the number of seats.(5)The evaluation indexes of the portable wardrobe’s volume method,weight method and gait-counting portability are not more than 0.1,15 and 75,respectively.The evaluation indexes of the portable table’s volume method,weight method and footwork method are not more than 0.1,20 and 25,respectively.The evaluation indexes of portable seats’ volume,weight and gait-counting portability are not more than 0.1,5 and 12,respectively.(6)In the way of realizing portable furniture,portable wardrobe is mainly realized by cloth,plastic and wood material enclosure;portable table is mainly realized by disassembly,expansion and folding,among which folding is "L","X","0X","OL";portable seat is mainly realized by folding,assembling,inflating and expanding.
