The Stone House called “shikumen” is one of the landmark buildings in Shanghai and is the main living space of modern Shanghai residents.It has witnessed the development history of Shanghai for more than 100 years and has become Shanghai's unique architectural cultural heritage.The regular arrangement of the stone buildings formed the lane.The Shanghai residents lived in the small lane space,and derived a strong local characteristic culture—the Lane Culture.The formation of the Lane Culture was evolved step by step under the background of a certain period of time,fermented by historical events,relying on architecture and people themselves.Different from Shanghai style culture,it is a kind of culture with the bottom of life,which reflects the lifestyle,attitude and wisdom of Shanghai people.This article mainly analyzes the era background and historical factors of the formation of Lane Culture,and then further understands the living environment of lane and the lifestyle and personality characteristics of Shanghai residents under the background of Lane Culture,so as to design modern clothing that reflects the characteristics of lane life at that time.The whole article is mainly composed of six parts.The first part is an introduction,which mainly introduces the background of the topic,the purpose and significance of the research,the current status of the research and the innovation of the graduation design.The second part mainly studies the content of Lane Culture.Firstly,it determines the meaning of Lane Culture.It is different from Shanghai culture.It is a kind of low-level civic culture with a breath of life in lane.Secondly,it is clear that the forming elements of Lane Culture are the background,Architecture,and people;and then through the development process of Shikumen architecture,the three elements of Lane Culture formation are integrated and explained,and the relationship between Shikumen architecture and Lane Culture is pointed out.The third part mainly analyzes the lifestyle in Lane Culture,and explains it from three aspects: the environment and state of lane living,the wisdom of life in lane and the character characteristics formed in Lane Culture.The fourth part mainly analyzes the design elements in the context of the Lane Culture,and finds the design elements from the popular clothing,the way of wearing and the way of life in the lane respectively.The fifth part mainly explains the design works,starting from the three aspects of style design,pattern design,fabric and color selection.The style design has three innovative points: sleeve shape,patch,and pleating;the pattern design comes from the current status of lane life and has three innovative prints in total;the choice of fabrics and color combinations combined with the characteristics of the era reflected the clothing's sense of age,and try to design modern clothing with Lane Cultural characteristics.
