Engine oil filter is a kind of filter material which is used to separate contaminants such as dust,metal particles,carbon deposits and other impurities in the oil,and thus slowing down the abrasion of emgome components,decreasing energy loss,and ensuring normal working of the engine.Due to the continuous upgrades of national emission regulations,new technologies for engine have been emerged.Meanwhile,the working condition in which oil filters are used is changed correspondingly.For example,the application of exhaust-gas recycle systems,airtight crankcase ventilation system and so on make the oil of the engine system contain more smoke and acid substances generated by engine combustion.Therefore,higher requirements are imposed on the chemical adaptability of the filter material.In addition,in order to meet the requirements of environmental protection and energy conservation,engine manufacturers are active in promoting long-mileage oil and oil filters(replacement of vehicle engine oil and oil filter with the mileage over 100,000 kilometers),which puts forward the higher requirement for the service life of oil filter.Therefore,the matching work of long-range oil filters is basically monopolized by foreign brand filters.domestic filter manufacturers are still in the initial stage of research and development of long-range oil filters,and the technical scheme and reliability verification basis of products are relatively weak.Therefore,in order to fill the gaps in research and development of domestic filter industry,in order to solve the problem of improving the using life of the oil filter,this paper researches as follows:Firstly,due to the fact that tesing standard for filter performance of used oil filter materials is still unable in domestic,in order to solve this problem,a set of method suitable for the evaluation of performances of the used oil filter(filter material)is established.Experimental methods for the filtering efficiency test,reliability test and service life test of the long-mileage oil filter material have been designed and verified.A engine bench was also applied to simulate the working condition of the oil filter.The experimental results show that the mechanical properties of the traditional oil filter material decrease obviously after the engine bench experiment(bursting strength 107 kPa),resulting in the reliability of the oil filter failing in design requirements.Secondly,Four different kinds of oil filter materials are used as the study subject,the material composition of the filter material,the morphology structures of the filter material,the basic physical properties,the aging resistance performance and the performance of the material bench are studied in detail.The properties such as filtration efficiency,dust holding capacity,mechanical properties,oil resistance and aging resistance of different filter materials and the influence of the properties of filters on the service life on the filter material were thoroughtly studied.The study results show that the 3#(glass fiber)and 4#(polyester fiber)filter material that meet filtration performance requirements of the long-mileage oil.Finally,3# and 4# filter materials are used as the raw material to prepare oil filter,and tests its using condition by means of the oil filter bench and the live road.The results show that the reliability,the service life and filtration efficiency of the oil filter prepared by 3# and 4# filter material meet the design requirements of engine system.Besides,the matching design for the long-mileage oil filter was also studied through bench and road test,Therefore,the 3# and 4# filter material can meet the demands of the target-adaptive engine for the long-mileage oil filter in 100,000 kilometers maintenance.
