Academic history plays an important role in promoting the development of a discipline and is an important cornerstone of the construction of a discipline.Although folk arts and crafts research has achieved a lot of important results,there is very little academic history combing of the results,especially there is almost no combing by region and time.This article takes the folk arts and crafts of the 1980 s in Southwest China as the research object,and uses quantitative analysis as the mainstay and qualitative analysis as the supplement.This study will answer the following questions: 1.How has the cultural origin,characteristics and development trend of folk arts and crafts evolved? 2.How can industry associations and academic seminars promote the development of disciplines? 3.What methods does the researcher use for research?This article introduces the background of folk arts and crafts in the 1980 s from the aspects of economy,system and culture.Then identify the main research objects from the three dimensions of resources,industry and academia.Firstly,the quantitative analysis method was used to analyze the dyeing and weaving and embroidery in detail from three aspects: the content of the publication,the periodical and the author of the publication.defect.Secondly,the conclusions are summarized from three aspects:academic system,academic platform,and theme of the times.Its academic characteristics are as follows: 1.From the general collection of cases to the exploration of basic theory,the preliminary construction of the academic system has begun.2.The establishment of academic associations,the issuance of professional journals,the holding of seminars and exhibitions are gradually improving the construction of academic platforms.3.The theme of the era includes the relationship between folk arts and crafts and ancient culture,the basic characteristics of folk arts and crafts,and the modern development of folk arts and crafts,thus answering to a certain extent for folk arts and crafts "Where do I come from?","I am Who? "," Where shall I go? "Finally,from the content of the publication,the publication organization,and theauthor of the publication,reflect on the academic shortcomings at that time,and send some suggestions and prospects to the current academic research from the macro,meso,and micro levels.
