As the main group of agricultural production and life, rural women are the direct participants and practitioners of China’s rural ecological civilization construction, and have played an important role in improving the rural ecological environment and maintaining the appearance of villages. At present, how to improve rural women’s awareness of ecological civilization, deepen the awareness of rural women’s participation in ecological protection, stimulate rural women’s participation in ecological protection, and inject female elements and female charm into the construction of beautiful countryside is an important issue facing the construction of rural ecological civilization. This paper adopts the methods of literature analysis and investigation to make an exploratory study on the participation of rural new-era women in the rural eco-civilization construction. In the first place, this study selected rural women from S town in G city as the research sample and collected the first-hand data of rural women’s participation in the rural eco-civilization construction by interviewing rural women, village cadres and representatives of male villagers in the sample area through questionnaires, household interviews and etc.Secondly, the collected data were organized and analyzed, and then the preliminary achievements, practical dilemma and the root cause of problems of rural new-era women’s participation in the eco-civilization construction were summarized and the countermeasures for rural new-era women’s participation in the rural ecocivilization construction were proposed. The paper found that the situation of rural women’s participation in the eco-civilization construction is relatively optimistic at present. This is reflected in the following aspects: rural women have a basic awareness of ecological protection, rural women can practice basic ecological agricultural production, rural women can practice basic ecological lifestyle and rural women organize and actively carry out various ecological protection activities.Among them, the rural living environment improvement activities carried out by rural women’s organizations and the new women’s movement in Southern Jiangxi have deepened the efforts of rural women’s participation in the eco-civilization construction. However, there are some practical dilemmas for rural women to participate in the construction of ecological civilization, such as the limited channels for rural women to participate in the eco-civilization construction at present, such as the weak material foundation for rural women to participate in the eco-civilization construction, and the inability of rural women to effectively translate their awareness of ecological protection into concrete actions. This study believes that the root causes of these dilemmas lie in the deficient eco-environmental protection systems in rural areas, the backward level of economic development in rural areas and the limited ability of rural women to obtain sources of income, the insufficient educational level of rural women and the incomplete concept of environmental protection of rural women. In view of the realistic dilemmas and the root cause of the problem of rural new-era women’s participation in the eco-civilization construction, this paper puts forward some countermeasures to promote rural new-era women’s participation in the eco-civilization construction from aspects of politics, economy and culture. One is to ensure that rural women have the opportunity to fully participate in the eco-civilization construction;the other is to strengthen the material foundation for rural women to participate in the eco-civilization construction;the third is to enhance the rural women’s awareness of ecological civilization.
