Research On Digital Protection And Design Of Yao Ethnic Clothing In North Guangdong Based On Participatory Design Concept

With the rapid development of an information age,and the advent of the Internet age,people's aesthetic ways and attitude are also changing day by day.With the improvement of people's aesthetic level,they are also placing higher and higher demands on the quality of designs,such as certain cultural connotation in them.Against such circumstances,objects of ethnic features appear especially precious.Taking ethnic culture as the breakthrough point provides design with a new train of thought.Yao has a long history,and costumes of Yao are colorful and a most characteristic category in ethnic dresses.Meanwhile,they're also China's intangible cultural heritage.While Liannan District,Northern Guangdong is the most concentrated gathering place for Pai Yao in China,playing a significant role in the cultural inheritance of the Yao,whose costumes are a symbol reflecting the psychological activities of its people,carrying content of many aspects such as function,aesthetics and spirit.Due to the influence of factors such as time,place,economy and culture,the values,beliefs and aesthetic of different periods are reflected,bearing significant research value.Due to rapid social development and the intervention of alien culture,the originality of the Yao itself fails to be fully manifested,so that excellent culture of the Yao has gradually faded out of people's sight,which is why more and more experts and scholars have realized the importance of protecting the costumes in North Guangdong province in recent years,and start to join the rank of studying and protecting the culture of the costumes.However,researches on the protection and application of costumes of the Yao of North Guangdong province are still small in number and lacking in depth.The living space of culture of the Yao in North Guangdong still faces critical challenges.How to protect the culture of the Yao in North Guangdong effectively against the contemporary cultural background has become an important task.Through the author's investigation and research on the theoretical basis of participatory design concept combined with digital technologies,and with an emphasis on the study of digital improvement and innovative design of costumes in the Yao of North Guangdong,the paper is mainly divided into the following aspects:First of all,there is a detailed elaboration on the status-quo and background of costumes in North Guangdong province,laying a theoretical foundation for subsequent researches.Through an overview of the costumes worn by people of the Yao in North Guangdong province,there is an analysis and summary of the development and protection status-quo of costumes in the Yao of North Guangdong,and in combination with their modern forms,digital protection forms are proposed.Secondly,there is an generalization and analysis of the theory of “digital protection”.The feasibility of implementing digital protection for costumes in the Yao of North Guangdong is also discussed on thistheoretical basis.Afterwards,the train of thoughts in designing digital protection of the costumes of the Yao of North Guangdong province are also discussed.In the end,a digital platform protecting costumes of the Yao in North Guangdong province and the innovative design of these costumes are also constructed by centering on users' participation.
