The Influence Of Clothing Dividing Line On Perceived Height

Clothing dividing line is the main body of the inner expression of the style,which not only has the function of modeling,but also has the function of decoration.The separation,combination,transfer and other operations of the dividing line can transform the two-dimensional fabric into three-dimensional clothing suitable for human body structure.Different types and positions of dividing lines tend to produce visual perception bias,which can not only correct the wearer's body shape and make up for its defects,but also enhance the wearer's fashion sense,beauty and confidence.In recent years,a large number of scholars at home and abroad have studied the perceptual bias caused by clothing segmentation lines.On the one hand,the results of these studies are not consistent.Some research results show that the vertical dividing line gives people the visual perception effect of being tall and tall,which is suitable for fat people to wear,while the horizontal line gives people the feeling of stretching and expanding,which is suitable for thin people to wear.On the other hand,there has been no in-depth and systematic research on the influence of dividing line on height perception.Therefore,this study attempts to explore the influence of the number and direction of clothing segmentation lines on perceived height through 3d virtual fitting technology and behavioral experiments,based on the mediating factors of body shape and clothing length of different wearers.The results show that:(1)the number of dividing lines has a significant effect on perceived height.Regardless of body type and clothing length,perceived height scores were higher with and without dividing lines.With the increase of the number of dividing lines,the perceived height score showed a trend of increasing first and then decreasing,indicating that the number of clothing dividing lines was moderate,which was helpful to improve the perceived height.(2)the direction of dividing line has a significant effect on perceived height.No matter which kind of dividing line number,the oblique dividing line perception height score is the highest;(3)as mediating variables,body shape and clothing length have no significant influence on perceived height.In this study,the effects of the number and direction of clothing dividing lines on perceived height were evaluated by using the stimulus material of three-dimensional clothing graph and the method of behavior test,and the results of perceived high evaluation of the number and direction of clothing dividing lines in different body shapes and lengths were obtained,which has certain theoretical and application value.
