Design Of Children Furniture With Removable Mortise And Tenon Structure

The author focus on children who aged seven to twelve years old and base on children's furniture to design a specific series which integrates traditional elements.This style entails removable mortise and tenon from traditional Chinese culture as the cultural and technical reference for material design.Depending on consulting relevant materials,the author provides the basic direction for the design and summarizes the design principles and methods of children's furniture by analyzing and summarizing the characteristics of seven to twelve years old children and explaining children's preferences and demands of color,material and size.Through amount of analysis about market research,consumer demand,user status,it was found out the problems of the design practice.Analyzing the contradiction between the problems of children's furniture and the actual needs of children by carry out a fieldwork on the square of the present kids' rest and entertainment.According to comprehensive analysis of search data,practical feasibility,design and processing technology,material selection,other process aspects in production tools and technology and so on.The main contribution of this paper is offering a solution for a range of designs and various functions of children's furniture which can be applied in promoting the interaction between people and things and enhance the experience in the children's living environment.
