Emulsion explosives,an important industrial explosive, are widely used in construction, mining, water conservancy, transportation and other important infrastructure construction fields. In industrial applications, the stability and detonation performance of emulsion explosives are the focus of attention.Emulsion explosive is an water-in-oil(W/O)emulsion industrial explosive, and oil-phase material is an important part of it.The influence of different oils on the stability and detonation performance of emulsion explosives is studied by testing the physical and chemical properties of three kinds of compound waxes and the stability and detonation performance of the emulsion explosives made by these waxes. It has positive research value and significance to improve the stability and detonation performance of emulsion explosive. The viscosity and the acid value of the three kinds of compound wax were determined, and then the amount of ammonium nitrate crystallization was obtained by the formaldehyde method after the latex matrix prepared by three kinds of composite wax was circulated at high and low temperature. So the relationship between the storage stability of emulsion explosive and the oil-phase material was obtained. The microstructure of the emulsion matrix was observed by a microscope to verify its stability. The thermal decomposition characteristics of these latex matrix samples and the effect of oil phase material on thermal stability were analyzed by the C80 microcalorimeter. The effects of oil phase materials on the explosive performance of three kinds of emulsion explosives were studied by testing the detonation speed and intensity. The following conclusions are drawn:(1)The stability of emulsion explosive is related to the viscosity and acid value of oil phase material. In a certain range, the viscosity of oil phase material is positively correlated with the storage stability of the emulsion explosive. The acid value of the oil phase also has a certain influence on the stability of emulsion explosive, which is related to the influence of acid value on the emulsion effect of the emulsion explosive.(2)Through microscopic observation of the microscopic state of latex matrix,it is found that emulsion explosives with small diameter and uniform distribution of latex matrix particles have relatively good stability, and the detonation speed and intensity were also found to be relatively good in the detonation performance experiment.(3)The thermal stability of the emulsion explosive is studied with the help of a C80 microcalorimeter. The three samples of the emulsion explosive are 124.669KJ·mol-1,103.598KJ·mol-1,and 120.357KJ·mol-1,respectively.The initial decomposition temperatures of the three samples are 281.462?,247.481? and 267.006?,respectively.It shows that the oil phase material has an influence on the thermal stability of the emulsion explosive.(4)The oil-phase material also affects the explosive performance of emulsion explosives. The detonation speed and intensity of emulsion explosive of 1#composite wax are higher than that of 2#and 3#,which indicates that the difference of oil phase has a certain influence on the detonation performance of emulsion explosive, but it is not the only factor. When the content of sensitizer changes, the detonation speed, and intensity also change.Figure[17]table[8]reference[71].
