In a modern society with a highly developed economy, globalization, marketization, and decentralization have profoundly affected the urban institutional environment and industrial regional environment in countries around the world, and have driven huge dynamic changes in industries and companies. As a representative of China's traditional superior industries, the chemical industry is a pillar industry related to national economy and people's livelihood. It is also constantly developing under the influence of globalization, marketization, and decentralization. After the global financial crisis in 2008,industrial transfer entered a new stage of development.Under this background, many new chemical companies followed the trend of the times and responded to the national policy call for vigorous development.Since then, the introduction of the "Double Innovation" policy has further promoted the establishment and growth of new chemical companies. However, under the increasingly severe problems of energy, ecology and safety and the downward pressure of the economy, the chemical industry is also facing huge development pressure and challenges. Therefore,it is crucial to strengthen the analysis of the space-time dynamics of the chemical industry and further clarify the direction of the spatial layout of China's chemical industry.Through combing the relevant research on industry, company evolution and chemical industry development, company growth, etc.,it is found that the current research and analysis of the growth dynamics of micro-companies in the chemical industry is relatively weak,so this article uses industrial company database data to build new and incumbent companies.In-depth research for the entry point.Based on the theory of new economic geography, the article first absorbs relevant ideas such as factor endowment theory, industrial location theory, professional diversity, globalization, marketization and decentralization, etc.,and builds a theoretical framework for analysis;secondly, through chemical industry location Quotient methods to quantitatively measure the degree of industrial agglomeration of China 's chemical industry, use geospatial techniques to visually analyze the contribution of China 's new chemical companies and incumbent companies to their growth, and use spatial autocorrelation Analyze the evolution of space-time dynamic pattern and agglomeration characteristics;finally,by using Stata software to build a panel measurement model, empirically test the influencing factors of the development of Chinese chemical companies, new chemical companies, and chemical incumbent companies from 2003 to 2013 Analysis to find out the commonalities and differences of growth factors of different types of chemical companies.Through inquiry, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)From the perspective of the spatial and temporal distribution pattern, the overall pattern of the spatial and geographical distribution of the chemical industry has not changed significantly, and there is a strong path dependence and location stickiness;with the comprehensive development of modernization, coastal areas have superior geographic location advantages such as superior markets and transportation. The chemical industry has gradually developed;the output value of the chemical industry has grown rapidly, and the role of economies of scale has been prominent;some resource-based cities have begun to face problems such as energy exhaustion and a single industrial structure. The regional development has been hindered.Consider industrial transformation for development;coastal ports and open areas The growth of the chemical industry is not so significant. The chemical industry that relies on resource-based development has a relatively gradual characteristic when undergoing transformation and development;compared with chemical incumbent companies, the role of new chemical companies in promoting the growth of the chemical industry has gradually emerged.(2)From the results of the econometric regression model: First, from 2000 to 2013,the development of the total sample of chemical companies and the growth of sub-samples of new chemical companies and chemical incumbent companies were significantly affected by the urban institutional environment and corporate heterogeneity. The growth of chemical companies is not so sensitive to the urban industrial environment, and it mostly depends on the economies of scale within the company.Second, the main influencing factors of the total sample of chemical companies are the globalized, marketized and decentralized urban institutional environment, and a specialized industrial environment. The economic level of urban development and the conditions of human resources, technology, labor and other factors have a profound impact on the growth of chemical industry companies.Third, the main influencing factor of the subsample of chemical incumbent companies is the globalized and marketized institutional environment. The economic level of urban development and factors such as talent, technology, and labor quality also have a greater impact on the growth of chemical incumbent companies.Fourth, the development of new chemical companies mainly benefits from technological progress, talent support, and an excellent market-oriented environment. In order to promote the sustainable development of the chemical industry, this article proposes that: from a national perspective, the implementation of the "decentralization management" policy should be further strengthened to optimize the business environment, promote the establishment of new chemical companies, stimulate market vitality, and improve the development mode of incumbent companies. To enhance the competitiveness of chemical companies and release the huge potential of the domestic market;from the perspective of local government,we should focus on creating an excellent urban institutional environment and industrial development environment, strengthen policy support for chemical companies, and optimize chemical Company layout, improve the level of opening up to the outside world, attract more foreign investment, give play to the economies of scale of the company, and thereby reduce production costs and enhance the competitiveness of chemical companies;companies themselves should strengthen technology research and development, and build core competitiveness through source innovation, while It is also necessary to abandon the old development ideas, adhere to green development and economic development, and strive to develop into a technology-leading and eco-friendly chemical company. And in the process of layout of chemical enterprises,we should pay more attention to the acceptance of local people.
