Study On The Technology Of Firing And Artistic Characteristics Of Paper Kilns

At the end of 1980s,the appearance of paper kiln brought a surprise to the modern ceramic art which focused on exploring the materiality of materials.This experimental firing technology can not only bring accidental effects to the decoration of ceramic surface,but also ceramic works as the body.The whole process from production to firing is full of participants' immersive experience.In this paper,through the study of paper kiln,we can get its development context and general firing rules,enrich the types of domestic kiln research,find ways to reduce the technical difficulty of the kiln,so that ceramic lovers or children can participate in the production and firing of the kiln,enrich ceramic activities and educational activities,and break the technical mystery of the kiln.From the aesthetic point of view,this paper attempts to summarize and analyze the characteristics of the technical beauty,process beauty and independent aesthetic consciousness of the paper kiln,and demonstrates that the paper kiln is the experimental direction of the conventional kiln,with experimental and independent nature and can be extended to the field of public art.Redefining the concept and life span of paper kiln proves that paper kiln has certain development space in contemporary art.
