With the acceleration of urbanization process, ecological security issues continue to emerge. The contradiction between promoting urbanization process and maintaining ecological environment function has become the main contradiction in the development of sustainable cities. How to solve the problem of urban ecological security has become the main problem to maintain the sustainable development of cities. The study of ecological security pattern is an effective means to coordinate urban development and environmental protection. The selection of influencing factors and effective analysis methods is helpful to the construction of urban ecological security pattern. As the urban skeleton, the spatial pattern of road network is one of the important factors reflecting the process of urbanization. With the improvement of road systems, the spatial boundaries of different regions have gradually weakened. It has led to the rapid development of economy, but the corresponding ecological problems have also followed.Large habitats have been segmented and fragmented by roads.Wildlife corridors have also been altered or even destroyed, hindering the exchange of biomass. The ecological problems in cities are particularly serious. The study of urban ecological security pattern under the influence of road network is of a great significance to understand the changes of urban ecological process and to construct a reasonable ecological security pattern.Source-corridor analysis method,i.e.eco-network analysis method,is an effective method to construct urban ecological security pattern. To study the impact of road network on urban ecological security pattern, the key is to quantify the factors of road network.Source-corridor analysis method,i.e.ecological network analysis method,is an effective method to construct urban ecological security pattern. To study the impact of a road network on urban ecological security pattern, the key is to quantify the factors of a road network.Taking Wuhan city as an example, firstly, the road network factors are quantified by the road density index based on the Kernel Density Estimation(KDE)and the integration index based on the spatial syntax theory respectively, and the results show that compared with the KDE,the spatial syntax effectively represent the importance of high-grade roads located in sparse areas of road network, and can effectively represent the characteristics of the global road network.Secondly,a two resistance surfaces are established based on land use type assignment and overlapping road network threat factor assignment. The ecological environment under two scenarios is constructed by combining MSPA analysis method and MCR model. The network is evaluated comprehensively. Results show that spatial syntax can effectively describe the spatial characteristics of road network. The average resistance value of the study area increases by 15.94%,the length of corridor increases by 37.9 km,the energy consumption of biological and material exchanges increases, and the resistance increases. To a certain extent, this reflects the impact of road network threats on ecological processes. The results are helpful to identify the impact of human activities on ecological processes and provide reference for the construction of urban ecological security pattern.
